About a block away from Swotha Square to the north on the right hand side stands a very beautifully built traditional Newari House – locally known as Hayemo
Chhen or the Shrestha house with many elaborately carved wooden windows and doorways.
This late 18th century family house was recently restored with the financial support from UNESCO/NFUAJ in coopertation with Patan Tourism Development
Organization (PTDO). This typical Newar family house has been converted into a quality bed and breakfast tourist accommodation.
